Terence F. Bowles

Terence F. Bowles took over as President and Chief Executive Officer of the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation on November 1, 2010. He is the third person to hold this position since the Management Corporation was established in 1998 to oversee the operations of the Canadian portion of the Seaway system.

Prior to joining the Seaway, Mr. Bowles was President and C.E.O. of the Iron Ore Company (IOC) of Canada from 2001 to 2010. IOC is the largest manufacturer of iron ore pellets in Canada, with facilities in Labrador City and Sept-Iles, and has a customer base covering North America, Europe and Asia. Rio Tinto, the international mining group, is the majority shareholder of IOC. Under his leadership, IOC experienced an impressive business turn around, improved its safety performance, recapitalized its aging infrastructure and updated technology and work methods to improve productivity and output.
